Chargers, and the supply behind them
At the end of June 2026 there were 7,673 licensed plug-in vehicles in the London Borough of Bexley, up from 5,940 a year earlier and from 1,450 in June 2021. 5,792 of them are kept privately rather than by a company. The growth is the point. A household that buys a plug-in car usually wants the charger on the wall the week the car arrives, and the part of the job that takes thought is not the charger but the house behind it. The main fuse and what is already drawing on it decide how much a charger can take. The earthing arrangement of the supply decides what protection the charger circuit needs, and BS 7671 has a section of its own for charging points. An older board may not have a spare way, or may be the kind of board that should be replaced first. None of that is visible from the drive. It is quickest to find out before the car is bought rather than after: a photo of the board, sent with the form, answers most of it.
All licensed plug-ins (BEV + PHEV + range-extended), all body types, private + company keepership; counted by registered keeper postcode, so company fleets register where the keeper is based. No CSV version published; figures read from the ODS.
